Content
The activities of an FZP are varied. The focus is on the independent identification of quality-enhancing work processes and their subsequent implementation in everyday practice. Creating structures, enabling optimisations, learning to lead a team: these are the challenges that an FZP takes on in order to lead the practice, together with the practice owner, not only to great treatment results, but also to economic success.
There are two ways to acquire this new professional qualification:
- On the one hand, as an independent advanced training (prerequisite: ZFA degree)
- on the other hand, as a development and supplement after successful completion of the ZMV.
The first path leads new starters directly to a successful degree (for this path, funding is possible through the Aufstiegs-BAföG). With the second pathway, we enable the many dental hygienists who already have practical experience to take a further step up the career ladder. In both cases, the course times are designed in such a way that professional advancement can also be coordinated well with family and career.
The following exciting topics complement the teaching content of the ZMV:
- Review, coordination and monitoring of established QM systems
- Promoting quality awareness of the entire practice team
- Promoting the team’s willingness to communicate and cooperate in order to solve operational problems and social conflicts
- Steering and promoting learning processes in practice
- Development of selection criteria as well as requirement and job profiles for staff recruitment and hiring
- Organisation of business and administrative processes with special consideration of economic and legal aspects
- Organisation of error and complaint management
- Active implementation of methods for time, self and project management
- Support for the organisation of ASCs
- Development of staff development strategies
- Obtaining the qualification as a trainer (trainer aptitude test)
After successful completion, the participants receive the certificate and a sealed certificate from the Berlin Chamber of Dentists.

Upgrading BAföG
The upgrading training courses at the Philipp Pfaff Institute can be funded via the Upgrading Training Assistance Act (Aufstiegs-BAföG).
The funding of upgrading training courses under the Upgrading Training Assistance Act (AFBG), the so-called “Aufstiegs-BAföG”, has recently required the provider of the measure to apply a quality assurance system.
This criterion is fully met with the ISO certification of the Philipp Pfaff Institute, so that all eligible course participants have the opportunity to apply for Aufstiegs-BAföG for upgrading training at the Philipp Pfaff Institute.
You can find more information on the Aufstiegs-BAföG at https://www.aufstiegs-bafoeg.de.
